Scope of services
Website content is general information, not legal advice. Legal advice is provided only under a signed engagement letter that defines scope, responsibilities, and fees.
Conflicts of interest
We perform conflict checks before accepting instructions. If a conflict arises, we will discuss available options, which may include informed consent procedures or declining/ceasing to act.
Client confidentiality & privilege
We protect client information in accordance with professional secrecy obligations and applicable data protection laws. Communications for legal advice may be protected by privilege subject to law and court rules.
Anti-money laundering & sanctions
We conduct KYC/AML due diligence and sanctions screening where required. We may request identification documents and supporting information and may be unable to act absent satisfactory completion.
Fees & billing
Fees may be hourly, fixed, capped, or phase-based, as agreed in the engagement letter. Disbursements and taxes (if applicable) are billed separately with transparent reporting.
Professional indemnity
Professional indemnity insurance appropriate to our practice is maintained. Further details can be provided upon request.
Client monies
Client funds, if held, are maintained in designated accounts and managed in line with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Document retention
Matter files are retained for a defined period consistent with legal and professional obligations, after which they are securely deleted or archived.
Electronic communications
Email and internet communications may be insecure or delayed. Avoid sending highly confidential information without agreed protective measures.
Third-party professionals
Where necessary, we may engage or recommend foreign counsel, experts, or service providers. We will explain roles and obtain your consent where required.
Complaints & feedback
We take concerns seriously. A complaints procedure is available on request and aims to resolve issues promptly and fairly.
Governing law
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, engagements and any disputes relating to our services are governed by UAE law, with forum selection set out in the engagement letter.
